What a waste of money and time. In theory this product sounds great. Unfortunately the software can barely live up to the screenshots they used in the marketing material. It crashes too often to call it a lot. I did get it to sync after a lot of time and energy. It said it found all my music playlists but only showed 5. I never got video or images to show up through the Wii. Basically this software shows a friendly simple interface with no guts to operate it, along with a bunch of preloaded web links to RSS feeds, web radio stations and web TV stations. I never tried those as my main reason for the software was to connect to my PC. I have plenty of bandwidth, plenty of computer, and a lot of tech savvy, trust me, it's the software. I looked for reviews and there was only one here on Amazon US but there are several scathing reveiws on Amazon UK. You need to check those out before you purchase this.

I have been looking for a way to view family photos, that are stored on our home pc, on our living room tv. We have a Wii and have a wireless connection to our pc. I had tried a free internet media center for the Wii through Red Kawa. I was able to make a connection to the pc, but standard photos taken by our Sony digital camera were too large in size for the software too handle. Photos of low quality (email photos, etc.) came through from PC to our TV via the media center and the Wii. br /br /Looking for another solution, I came upon the X-oom Media Center for Wii software. This is an improvement upon the Red Kawa free software, but problems still exist. I experienced numerous system crashes in trying index our pc's photo library (approx. 3,000 photos). Ideally all of our photos on the pc would be available for viewing on our TV, but the software cannot handle this. I have read product reviews (after-the-fact) on Amazon's UK site, and have learned that this is a common frustration for the users of this product. br /br /My current work-around solution is to create a "X-oom" folder and drop a couple of hundred photos that I may want to view in it. X-oom handles this volume very well, and the photos come through perfectly on our big screen tv. I have not used any of the other software functions in depth (video, music, rss feeds etc.), but after my photo experiences, I would be wary of how useful they would be. br /br /This is a decent product at this point, and may serve your needs depending upon your expectations, but has great need for improvement. My hope is that X-oom or a competitor will continue to improve upon the current generation of media center software, as more and more people will want access to their pc's from their living room couch.
