5 out of 5 stars Good times... Goooood times...   May 11, 2008
The interview with Ash (Bruce Campbell - best thing to come out of the big screen in ages...) alone makes this game a must for any Evil Dead fan, be it 1,2, or Army of Darkness. It's fun, playable, and even a bit challenging at times if you get too liberal with your ammo too early in the game. If you love Campbell's classic one-liners, if you love Evil Dead, if you love a a good time, check it out.

4 out of 5 stars simple, but fun   June 13, 2007
At first glance, I thought this game might be a bit of a bore. the graphics are a bit on the simple side. But the more you get into the game, the better it gets. They did a good job capturing the dry humor of Ash with the help of Bruce Campbells voice to make it authentic. With a good lineup of weapons to choose from slashing and shooting your way through the deadites is quite enjoyable.

4 out of 5 stars Blood sweat and chainsaw!   April 23, 2006
Much improved from the earlier "hail to the king", "Fistful Of Boomstick" really got my appetite for destruction going and left me wanting more. You get to travel over differen't time periods of the town and see what the dead would have done to them. Awesome weapons and great enemies to kill. There is humor in it as a review said below. If you dont' talk to all characters you are totally missing out. 3d environment, great controls. Only annoying thing is that the one liners repeat too often on the one liner button. They removed this feature on "regeneration" I think it was in good taste. br /br /Typical macho Campbell at his best. I loved this game. You get a whole lotta' game for your price. Don't miss it. Great Ending and story... and did i mention the deadites rule?br /br /

3 out of 5 stars Evil Dead: Fistful of Boomstick Reviewed by Mr. Sean David   December 1, 2004

Let me start off with this. Fistful of Boomstick is definitely better than the horrible Hail to the King. It still doesn't stack up to the likes of BloodRayne or Devil May Cry. First off, the graphics aren't terribly great, but decent. CG is pretty good, though and Bruce Campbell( AKA "Ash" ) is the only detailed character on the game. Sound is great with the afforementioned Bruce Campbell lending his voice and his one-liners are hilarious as always, but music is barely adequate. Controls handle pretty well and there's no denying the sweet, sweet pleasure of chainsawing a Deadite and tossing a stick of dynamite in its mouth. Yes, FOB does give you such sequences of fun things like that, but also has parts of boredom as you wander around pretty generic levels( all levels consist of the same town, just different eras ). Now if you're a Evil Dead fan, you'll probably like it. I enjoyed it despite it flaws. But if you're looking for another DMC or BloodRayne, wait for their sequels or in DMC's case, wait for its prequel. I'm giving it a 3 out of 5. This is Sean David siging off.br /br /Until then,br /Semper Fi, Carry On.br /

4 out of 5 stars Hail To the King Baby   November 11, 2004

This game is freakin' sweet. That's all there really is to say about this game. br /The story picks up with Ash (voiced by Bruce Campbell!)Watching a show on the Occult, with a Proffesor Embridge discussing the Book of the Dead, which summons the evil spirits seen in the movie trilogy. On TV he plays the infamous tape of Proffesor Knowby which contains incantations from the Book of the Dead. The Deadtites show up, and its up to Ash to find a way to send them back. He enlists Embridge's help, but unfortunetly he has some alterior motives. br /The game play on this is fairly tight. Combat with Deadites isn't very hard to learn and the weapons are interesting to say the least. The chainsaw arm is back. Boomsticks galore. Exploding shells add for some interesting effects when hitting a Deadite. The game employs a right hand / left hand combat system and rather good targeting. The camera generally gives good angles though there is the odd occasion where your vision is going to be obscured by the camera taking a weird position.br /Level layouts are pretty good, though they require lots of backtracking to pick up items or finding a character. And make sure that the brightness is up on your screen, or you will get lost. Level four in the forest, would be impossible since the setting is so dark that you cannot see the path to the village.br /This game is a bit of a guilty pleasure. With all the games out there that contain the same amount of violence, yet take themselves seriously, Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick is a welcome change. It encoperates all the campy fun from the trilogy, and is more fun than creepy, though it can have its moments. Adding Bruce Campbell into the mix makes it all the better. Don't miss a chance to play this game, it's worth the time.
